Local governments in Contra Costa County are collaborating to offer a Leadership Academy for emerging leaders. The next Leadership Academy will launch in January 2020, typically meeting on the third Thursday of each month for seven sessions, ending in July 2020*. The Academy will be held at Walnut Creek City Hall, 1666 N. Main Street. The target audience is Division Managers, Assistant Department Heads, mid-managers, and other emerging leaders.
*The February class will be held on the fourth Thursday, February 27, 2020; and the June class will be held on the second Thursday, June 11, 2020.
Goals of the Leadership Academy
To create a cost-effective talent development program for the participating jurisdictions
To enhance the leadership skills and capacities of the participants
To assist the participating agencies in their succession planning efforts
To offer employees positive development opportunities and motivating experiences
